Moves That Build Your Brand and Business

Forget viral stunts. Build a powerhouse real estate brand through small, daily habits and consistent, value-driven actions that keep you top-of-mind with every lead.

NEW YORK — Real estate professionals don't need the latest tool or a large campaign to reach potential referrals or leads. Personal branding builds over time through small, everyday actions that keep the brand visible and that build strong relationships.

Some initial steps include messaging 10 people each morning on social media, sending short videos to previous customers and turning common customer questions into content. Sharing past sale stories, thanking referral sources and passing along helpful tips to other agents are other simple ways to stay engaged.

Additionally, send new listings or comparables to buyers and homeowners, invite customers to local events and recognize vendors or cooperating agents with a quick thank you note.

“None of these activities are difficult. Most take five minutes or less. But they’re effective because they’re consistent, relationship-based, and rooted in value, not vanity,” Jimmy Burgess, chief coaching officer for HomeServices of America and president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, said in Inman.

“Building a brand doesn’t require a viral video or a billboard. It requires presence, intention and small moments stacked over time,” he added. “Choose a few of these to start with. Build them into your morning routine. And watch what happens when your name is the one people think of first.”
